Removing the root cause of IPR hubris

I like what eWeek said on this today.

I expanded on these thoughts in my Blog

 http://drrw.blogspot.com

I realize that there's a whole raft of people
in OASIS who are still trying to cling to
1980's business models of how software
gets done and how software companies
are successful. They still believe in a
fantasy dream. The .COM bust put paid
to all that - it's time the industry fessed up
and moved on. That is just not how
software gets done any more.

Paradoxically their customers have
already figured this out. It's time they
started listening to them, instead of
trying to dictate at them.

Cheers, DW
