I do not suggest you call it "Native File", as that name is probably
specific to that particular Microsoft program. I've never heard it before.

You should at least encourage distribution of the preferred form for
modification. It would be OK to compel it.
I don't have a strong opinion so far regarding whether or not you should
compel it.
This is, however, important when considering the question of whether a
font is source or binary. At least some of the time, there _is_ a source
file that is different from the font file in its usable form.
