As an Eclipse user I don't really care if there are any other projects...it's a large ecosystem by itself and there is strong community support for it.
And cathedral is every bit as valid a development style as bazaar for open source.

No.
The EPL is supported by a strong foundation (centralised)
but has virtually no support from the community (bazaar,
individual non-Eclipse-affiliated developers using it).
