The Legal Drafting Committee of the Open Web Foundation ("OWF") has
announced publication of the OWF Contributor License Agreement (CLA 1.0) and
the Final Specification License (OWFa 1.0).
These licenses are for specifications that are implemented and used in
computer software.
CLA 1.0 and OWFa 1.0 support community efforts to write and implement
software specifications that are based on contributions of intellectual
property from copyright and patent owners. Open web specifications are
intended to be compatible with both open source and proprietary software
licensing models, and they enable a commons of software that creates our
networked world.
A FAQ that describes CLA 1.0 and OWFa 1.0 are at http://bit.ly/ck8S9j.
Official versions of these agreements are linked therein.
As always, we welcome your comments and suggestions.
