Mauricio:

There are some good resources on how to effectively license your software
projects open source at the REUSE project:

Hi Josh,

Thanks for the reply.

Do I need to send a formal request to somewhere to use an OSI approved
license? Or do I simply put a LICENSE.TXT file together with my algorithm?

Sincerely,

Mauricio Noda

Howdy, Mauricio!

You seem to have mistaken the reason for this list. We do not approve
projects, or algorithms. We just approve new licenses.

If you want to use an already-approved license, like the MIT license,
for your original work, you do not need to ask us. Just go ahead and
use it.
