First, it’s a post-open source world not because open source failed but because its a deeply embedded part of the developer ecosystem so killing open source at this point is difficult. 

Second, CC-BY-NC has not killed the creative commons as a vibrant community that exchanges all sorts of IP.  There is no reason to believe that it would lead to human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together...mass hysteria.

Well, maybe mass hysteria.

That the OSI isn’t going to go down this path doesn’t bother me but claiming doom and destruction when our next door neighbors do so and are quite happy and successful strikes me as silly.
