They _are_ getting posted to the mailing list archive.  Mailman's
pipermail archiver shows them at the bottom of archived messages (where
present) as retrievable objects stored with their own URLs.  Please see your
recent post as an example:

In this regard, GNU Mailman's term 'scrubbed' (used, e.g., on that
archived copy) is misleading.  In context, it is intended to mean
'stored as a separate object'.
