At the last OSI board meeting, the OSI considered the proposal to have a
6-month "up or down" rule, i.e., if 6 months have passed since
submission of a license for approval, the OSI would accept or reject the
license unless the license submitter requests more time for
consideration.
The board decided not to adopt this proposal. Instead, the board is
inclined to commit to a 6-month status update rule: if 6 months have
passed since submission of a license for approval, the OSI will provide
a status update at that time. The status update could be, but is not
limited to, announcement of a decision to accept or reject the license.
