I'm not this list's moderator, but I was one of the stronger proponents of switching OSI license-discuss to GNU Mailman, so I can provide a bit of understanding of how the list software works.

Yes, it's not uncommon for a moderator to process and approve a bunch of messages at one time which then get delivered within a few minutes.

Mailman understands and has options that will try to filter out duplicate messages, but that only works if you actually resent the originals unchanged. By making a change, your emails very likely got a different Message-Id: header and thus were considered "different".

Someone could manually update the OSI list archives, but this list gets archived elsewhere (eg www.mail-archive.com and such), so it's effectively not useful to try to make such a change.

Go to the URL quoted at the bottom of each message:

That will let you login to confirm your list subscription, adjust options and such.
(Or send a password reminder to your email account if you can't login.)
