As soon as this happens, drop-kick CLS from the list. There's no reason
to tolerate personal remarks of that sort. That way at least we don't
have to see (4-6) at all. The outcome is the same, but burnout is
perhaps reduced.
Many non-authoritarian organizations have foundered on the
dubious principle of open membership, which frequently leads to
a preponderance of assholes, yahoos, spoilers, whining neurotics,
& police agents.

[T]here is a Darwinian explanation for the refusal to accept Darwin.
Given the very pessimistic conclusions about moral purpose to which his
theory drives us, and given the importance of a sense of moral purpose
in helping us cope with life, a refusal to believe Darwin's theory may
