[License-discuss] A new kind of badgeware license?

Hello folks,

A new modified MIT license popped up over the weekend, accompanying the
release of Kimi K2, "a state-of-the-art mixture-of-experts (MoE)
language model with 32 billion activated parameters and 1 trillion total
parameters."

The weights are publicly available for use and distribution with a
modified MIT license. The modification is:

Our only modification part is that, if the Software (or any
    derivative works
thereof) is used for any of your commercial products or services
    that have
more than 100 million monthly active users, or more than 20 million
    US dollars
(or equivalent in other currencies) in monthly revenue, you shall
    prominently
display "Kimi K2" on the user interface of such product or service.

I've seen people reacting on various forums online arguing about the
nature of this clause, some calling it an additional restriction
incompatible with the OSD.

I'm not asking for a formal review of this license (hence the post on
-discuss), I'm curious to see what this group thinks of Kimi's modification.

Thanks

Stef (in my personal capacity)
