The position of MySQL AB is different. They say to their customers that
creating an application which uses MySQL via their API e.g. linking or using
the command line interface from a script is limited to GPLd application.

Developers of proprietary applications using MySQL must buy a commercial
license at least when the owner of the proprietary code either directly ships
with a copy of MySQL or provides its customer with instructions how to obtain
MySQL in order to run the proprietary code.
