Dear California Association of Voting Officials,

The Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk (RR/CC) launched its
Voting Systems Assessment Project (VSAP) to address the demands of an
increasingly large and complex electorate and to modernize the systems and
tools to sustain and facilitate the voting experience.

The intent of VSAP is to transform and modernize the voting experience in
the largest local election jurisdiction in the U.S. in a manner that is
responsive to the needs, desires and behaviors of its electorate. After
years of research, design and engineering, we are entering a critical stage
to determine the County’s approach to system development, manufacturing and
implementation of the new voting experience model.

Last October, we engaged Gartner Inc. to develop a sourcing strategy and to
provide guidance on implementation strategies through a readiness
assessment. Gartner finished its preliminary work, and is now reaching out
to the IT community – both to those currently in the voting system space
and to those who may have complementary skills and products in other
industries, including Systems Integrators – to garner interest by the
marketplace to become potential partners with Los Angeles County.

To further those efforts, I invite you to participate in a short survey
conducted by Gartner to help inform the next steps of VSAP. Your feedback
and involvement is highly encouraged and appreciated.

Please click on the following link to commence the survey. The survey
should take approximately five (5) minutes to complete. Answers may not be
saved for completion at a later time.

The survey will be open until Tuesday, February 14th at 5 PM PST.
