Hi Brian, please don't be so swamped! :-) 

 

In your free time, rather than trying to come up with your own definitions of open source software, please take a look at Chapter 1 in my book. The cover PDF is attached. At the bottom is a pretty parchment from which a 5-point summary chart can be derived that applies to EVERY open source license approved by OSI. (Prentice Hall 2005. Amazon and B&N, etc.)

I’m sorry I’m so swamped that I haven’t done this.  Here’s a suggestion if someone else wants to help a poor guy out:

 

            add to the list of definitions at the start of the document, converting their “Open source” to "Visible source”, adding “Open source” with a definition of “OSI certified license guaranteeing the freedom to use sources and derivative works in perpetuity”
