FLOSS-United -- A community supporting FLOSS: standing united for user freedom.

About FLOSS-United
English (USA)

Free, libre, and open source software (FLOSS) is powered by communities of individuals who understand the responsibility of technology. The success of FLOSS comes from our ability to collaborate--to build things together. Similarly, efforts to create a society that respects user freedom and standards that enforce our rights in computing are most successful when they're carried out together.

We, the Free Software Foundation, Open Source Initiative, and Software Freedom Conservancy, understand this. Individually, we stand for user freedom. Each of these organizations has their own niche in the technical side of digital rights. The FSF has a high level view of advocacy work around user freedom and provides a home for GNU projects. The OSI promotes and protects the FLOSS licenses, projects and communities, curating incubators and supporting infrastructure for new projects to grow. The Conservancy is a fierce protector of copyleft and helps FLOSS projects take the next step in their growth through fiscal sponsorship and organizational infrastructure. Our work is different, but related, and we stand together--stand united--for freedom.

We hope that you'll join us! We are only as strong as our affiliates, donors, members, supporters, and volunteers. Our success relies more on you than on anyone else.
