It appears the government officials have been "locked in "to repetitive purchasing of proprietary terminally flawed voting systems. We initiated the Los Angeles and San Francisco projects for open source voting but both projects have been absorbed by Microsoft and other proprietary foes " bobbing in their wake" . Prior to that I served as CIO in the State University of New York and Director of the UCLA Media Lab. I am also a former member of my local School Board. So, considering my background, this group is of particular interest to me and I am excited to see it emerge.
