This table provides a brief summary of the license terms and does not affect the legal interpretation or enforceability of the license itself. The idea is inspired by IBM's AI Factsheets (<a href="https://oecd.ai/en/catalogue/tools/ibm-factsheets-for-ai-governance">https://oecd.ai/en/catalogue/tools/ibm-factsheets-for-ai-governance</a>). Another benefit of this table is that it can potentially be parsed by programs for license compliance analysis. Just as most users simply click "I accept" when a cookie consent popup appears [1], we cannot expect every user to fully understand each license term. Additionally, since the ModelGo License family has multiple variants—similar to CCs—the Model Sheet helps distinguish between them more easily.</div><div><br></div><div>[1] <span style="color: rgb(34, 34, 34); font-family: Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; font-variant-ligatures: normal; orphans: 2; widows: 2; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255); text-decoration-thickness: initial; text-decoration-style: initial; text-decoration-color: initial;">Obar, J.A. and Oeldorf-Hirsch, A., 2020. It requires knowing exactly "where the Licensor resides or conducts its primary business", which could be an issue. Also, when is this relevant? At the time of release, of which release? At the time when litigation is threatened, at the time when litigation starts? And what about a dispute between two subsequent licensees, both owners of a derivative, would this apply to each of them or to the initial? In general, I advocate for NOT having such provision in Open Source licenses, which causes more harm than good.</div></div></blockquote><br></div><div>My lawyer suggests that we explicitly state the governing law of the license, so they wrote:</div><div><br></div><blockquote style="margin: 0 0 0 40px; border: none; padding: 0px;"><div><div><i>7.1 This Licence will be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of Singapore.</i></div></div><div><div><i>7.2 The Courts of Singapore shall have exclusive jurisdiction of any dispute arising out of or in connection with this Licence.</i></div></div></blockquote><div><br></div><div>However, I intend for this license to be more internationalized and reusable, but my lawyer claims they can only provide advice under Singapore law. However, I think it is good to state the governing law, as ODC-BY-1.0, PDDL-1.0, and many proprietary licenses do. I can try to amend the clause in MG0-2.0 if it is widely regarded as harmful.
