<br>
__________ <br>
<br>
Rationale: <br>
<br>
The license was originally used by Berkeley Software Design, a <br>
commercial fork of the Berkeley Software Distribution, as a
further <br>
simplification of the traditional BSD license. Unlike the
so-called 0BSD <br>
license, which is much more recent, it preserves the original
form and <br>
wording of the BSD license, and is a complement to existing
simplifications <br>
like the 3-Clause-BSD and 2-Clause-BSD licenses. <br>
<br>
Proliferation category: <br>
<br>
Licenses that are popular and widely used or with strong
communities <br>
<br>
<br>
As a sidenote I'll say the license variant is not popular, but
the code <br>
will be at least in FreeBSD for the foreseeable future and there
is no <br>
real reason to add more clauses to the existing code. <br>
