[License-review] veto against Unlicence

Hi *,

sorry, I don’t read l-r these days, but I have real problems
with the “Unlicense”, mostly because it doesn’t grant a licence
under copyright law and PD dedications both aren’t valid in my
legislation *and* don’t cross country boundaries due to Berne
Convention.

Please keep me in Cc, and if needed I can expand more, but I’m
kinda in two hurries right now, buried under other work, and
need to get this veto heard.

“Unlicense” is a PD dedication, not a licence, and therefore
not portable to at least a good part of the EU, unusable both
for consumers and creators. I have to treat stuff under the
“Unlicense” as proprietary unlicenced unusable crap.

(Sadly, it’s also still listed on the Copyfree site… perhaps
I have to start my own curated list… ☹)

Erk… thanks for the heads-up. I’ll have to forward my mail there then.

Other than not being a copyright licence…
