That's what both Henrik and I are trying to figure out.

>From my perspective, a strong-copyleft DB forcing requirements on the
app layer is OK (and not novel), as long as everyone involved is clear
on what those restrictions are and who they affect.    So the core idea
here is fine, and *might* even stem the flow of submissions for other,
less well-considered, network-effect licenses.  But that requires making
the CAL as good of a license as possible, so that nobody feels the need
for anything else (or at least, anything else that's OSD-compliant).
