Thanks for your note.

I understood the purpose of the process as it's described on the website:

- Ensure approved licenses conform to the Open Source Definition

- Identify appropriate License Proliferation Category

- Discourage vanity and duplicative Licenses

- Ensure a thorough, transparent and timely review (e.g. within 60 days)

That's hardly a rubber-stamp process, especially the first point!

If there are OSI-wide goals other stewardship of the Definition, are they listed somewhere?  What happens if a license passes the first three points, including the Definition, but isn't approved?
