    The OSI has approved both the Upstream Compatibility License 1.0 and the
    BSD+Patent License. 
    
    The UCL was specifically approved as a 'Special Purpose' proliferation
    category license. I see that McCoy Smith suggested the same category for
    BSD+Patent but suggested as an alternative that it could be approved as
    a variant to the 2-clause BSD license. The issue of proliferation
    category was not specifically addressed in the course of approval of
    BSD+Patent; for the moment I would assume it should be treated as
    'Special Purpose' as well.
