Revised License Committee Report for March 2009

Dear OSI and reviewers,

Thank you for your constructive support in discussions and for approving
the EUPL on 4 March 2009.
The attached "gift" is virtual, however sincere (it was real on the team
room :-).
The OSOR.eu team is aware that there is still a long road and intensive
work to motivate administrations (in particular in Europe) to license
massively their software under OSS conditions.
We believe that the EUPL, because it tries to be more comprehensive and
has - uniquely, identical value in 22 linguistic versions will help,
while being compatible with the GPL.

EUPL approval is echoed on www.osor.eu

Best regards,

Patrice-E. Schmitz
OSOR team

The board voted yesterday to accept the committee's recommendations.
Note that discussion on the caGrid license has bogged down on the
license authors desire to modify the license with every release. My
feeling is to tell them to go away until they have a license they
like, but other people may feel differently.
