I'm the chair of the license approval committee. I think it's fair to
say that all of the licenses currently under discussion are still
under discussion, and are not yet ready to be brought out of
committee.
We're trying to talk the UOML folks out of incorporating certification
into their license, the University Jaume I folks out of a mandated
attempt to report publication of modifications of licensed software,
the Iggy Wanna License folks out of attempting to impose restrictions
on software that merely uses licensed software.
The EUPL looks good, and solves (for Europe, anyway) the problem of
presenting users with a license written in their language. We're
waiting for them to approve 1.1 so we can approve it.
The Open Source Content License folks can use either one of Larry
Rosen's license without concern for the fact that what they're
licensing is a mixture of code and text. It Just Works(tm). If the
board feels it necessary to take action, then my recommendation is to
reject the license.
