In the UK, it is the case that using software is protected by copyright,
but my understanding is that in the USA this is not the case, and the
GPL is drafted with that situation in view.

Emails are not formal business letters, whatever businesses may want.
RFC1855 says there should be an address here, but, in a world of spam,
that is no longer good advice, as archive address hiding may not work.
