You're wrong. The netiquette has its RFC (number 1855, published in october 1995) ! Politeness is a requirement, and a valid cause of internet access cancellation by many ISP, as part of their contract which directly refers to it (international ISPs often provide also a translation of this RFC, if English is not the native language).
