That is /one/ standard in fields of academia.  There is another very
successful standard of open source academic licenses, typified by the
MIT/X11 license (http://opensource.org/licenses/mit-license.php), New
BSD (http://opensource.org/licenses/bsd-license.php), and others.  Of
course, these all allow commercial reuse.
