Yes, because you're making pro-hominem arguments for your inclusion.
Didn't the lid on Pandora's box CLEARLY say "Do not open for eternity"
when you opened it?

In fact, you weren't rejected because you were or were not Bruce
Perens on the night of September 22, 1997. You were rejected because
you were person N+M on a committee of N people where M>0. No malice
intended; you just didn't make the cut; sorry that you weren't even
the guy out in right field; hope your feelings weren't hurt (would it
help to apologize?). On the other hand, now that you've whined about
it publicly, you've made it impossible for us to even begin to start
to possibly maybe consider adding you to the committee, much less
admitting error in not doing so initially.

If your kid (and I know you have kids) whines about getting a candy
bar at the grocery store checkout, do you give him one? If you do it
once -- even just that one time when you're tired and poor and a
huddled mass yearning to breathe free -- you've set a precedent that
sufficient whining will get your child what they want. That's a
really really bad precedent to set. Millions for defense; but not one
cent in tribute.
