Licensing options for firmware

It's not strictly necessary for my purposes.  I want to benefit the user
community, but if manufacturers want to use the code, they can either
contribute something worthwhile or pay for a commercial license.  Ordinarily
the GPL would do that (a la MySQL), but it just won't cut it when we're
talking about separate hardware modules.

I'll look into Sleepycat.
