You're allowed to, but I fear you are doomed to be disappointed.  This
is a question for your own lawyers, who understand the details of
corporation law and contract law in your country.  It can't be answered
out of the general principles of copyright law and open-source licensing
(except to note that joint copyright ownership does exist).
