IIRC, if you application can choose between Mysql's JDBC (ODBC, lib etc)
AND OTHERS, you don't need a license (as long as it is not linked against
it, which violates the GPL).

Actually, what limits your hability to distribute your application
is not MySQL AB, but the GPL itself.
