open source

Hi all, 
Currently I and a team of developers are working on a web based
electronic medical records application.  Our application is server
centric and serves up content through tomcat.  

We hope to make the project open source but we are heavily java/jsp
and we are wondering, since the Sun jdk is not truly open source, how
this affects the "open source-ability" of our code. 

If anyone would care to comment it would be greatly appreciated.
