CAVO folks:

We should have added that as a specific criterion for our recommendation of GPLv3 for election software! There is no doubt that GPLv3 is already being used by many significant and sustained projects. :-)

When open source people (including me) get embroiled in a licensing discussion, we (including me) can find lots of reasons why GPLv3 isn't the best. But it is good enough, and it is significant, and its use is sustained.

As people keep reminding us, merely liking the CSET license is no longer enough of a reason for OSI approving it. We should understand its impact on the rest of the open source community in its technology arena. You CAVO colleagues are the best ones to lead that discussion on license-review@. You know this software technology and I really don't. Please don't let CSET get this one approved too easily.
I would like to have a better understanding of the answer to this one.
