I'm so excited to have the substantive discussion, I missed the session where this was discussed, but we've been working on this topic at Conservancy (with the beginnings of a partnership with Wikimedia) so I can't wait to collaborate on this!
"The next generation of open" ? It could be abbreviated "next-gen
open" or something.
Especially since Karl's got "question copyright.org [3]", I've got to question the use of "copyright" here and second the suggestion of "beyond licensing". OSI has limited itself to licensing to both great success but also potentially missed opportunity. It feels like this could be a part of defining the next generation of OSI.
Hi all,

Thanks for volunteering! I'll start with an easy question, what do folks
want to call the working group? I remembered Karl suggesting "Beyond
Copyright" on my way out the door from the meeting, and liked it as a
starting point, but he actually suggested "Beyond Licensing", which is
also good. Any other thoughts?
Once we pick a name, we'll occupy a space on the wiki to match. For
